On Sunday, October 26, Shore Boulevard at Astoria Park will come alive with laughter, music, and the best neighborhood energy around.
In partnership with Gentle Art Studio and Officer Rodrigo Costa of NYPD Community Affairs, this event brings together everything we love about our neighborhood — families, creativity, safety, and heart. 💜
🚗 The Trick-or-Treat Adventure
Walk through rows of cars, trucks, and community vehicles — firetrucks, police cruisers, boats, and wildly creative trunks — all decked out and ready to hand out candy and smiles.
🎭 Costume & Trunk Contests
Kids, families, and local businesses go all out every year — dress up, decorate, and join the fun for a chance to win special prizes and community bragging rights!
🎵 Monster Mash & Games
Dance, laugh, and make memories with your neighbors. Our volunteers and partners help keep everything flowing safely so you can focus on what matters most — having fun together.
💜 Optional Candy Drop-Off
If you’d like to add a little extra sweetness to the day, you’re welcome to drop off a bag of mixed candy per child at Gentle Art Studio by Friday, October 24.

What is a Trunk or Treat event?
Trunk or Treat is a community-style Halloween celebration where families, neighbors, and local businesses decorate the trunks of their cars and hand out candy to children — all in a safe, fun, and organized setting.
Instead of going door to door, kids walk from trunk to trunk, collecting treats, showing off their costumes, and sharing smiles with friends and community members. 🎃
Where and when is the event taking place?
The Trunk or Treat event will take place at Astoria Park on Shore Boulevard, Astoria, NY 11105, on Sunday, October 26, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
How much does it cost to participate?
Participation is FREE!
Families and community members who’d like to support the event can donate candies or small prizes by dropping them off at Gentle Art Studio (28-02 Astoria Blvd, corner of 28th St, Astoria NY 11102) — one of our main community drop-off locations.
Can I decorate my car?
Absolutely! We love creativity and community spirit. 🎨
Participants are encouraged to decorate their cars and bring their Halloween ideas to life.
There will even be a special prize for the best-decorated trunk!
Is there a theme for car decorations?
While there’s no specific theme this year, we encourage everyone to get creative and choose any family-friendly designthey’d like! 🎨
The overall event will carry a Halloween theme, so think fun, spooky, and festive — in your own unique style! 👻

What safety measures are in place?
Safety is always our top priority. 💫
All vehicles will be guided to designated parking spots to ensure a smooth and organized setup.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children throughout the event.
The NYPD Community Affairs team, led by Officer Rodrigo Costa, is proud to co-host this event and will be on site to provide additional security and support for all participants.
What type of candy or treats should I bring?
Please bring individually wrapped, store-bought candy to share with our little trick-or-treaters. 🍬
Can I hand out non-candy treats?
Absolutely! 🎉 Non-candy treats such as stickers, pencils, small toys, or glow sticks are always welcome.
Please just make sure items are safe for all age groups and easy for little hands to enjoy. 💜

How can I volunteer or help with the event?

Are pets allowed at the event?
As much as we love our furry family members, we ask that you leave pets at home for everyone’s safety and comfort. 🐾💜
With lots of kids, costumes, food, and excitement, the event can be overwhelming for animals — and we want all participants (including pets!) to stay happy and safe.
Is there a limit to how much candy I should hand out to each child?
We don’t have a strict limit — we just ask everyone to share the sweetness! 🍬
Please hand out a few pieces of candy to each trick-or-treater so that every child can enjoy the fun throughout the event.
With so many families participating, a little mindfulness helps make sure every kid leaves with a smile (and a full candy bag!). 💜
